In working the a User Experience Researcher on my team, we realized that this wasn’t conducive towards leveraging screen real estate, and made it harder to view content on smaller screens. When working with my UXR colleague, we delineated a nice visual to show the corresponding grades in a bar, rather than listing them out in plain text. On this page the split layout makes a return with related resources, pulling in materials that are similar and could be of interest to the end-user. From the onset, the platform also included a ratings system, so users could easily see which resources were recommended. Make it stand out When designing the mobile pages and interactions of the application, I took notes from the way that Apple’s default Stocks app utilized a drawer to add context to the screen without detracting from the primary data display of cash positions across currencies. A user could bring the drawer up to see their recent activity such as financial alerts, or system-generated actions to take to ensure they remained in good standing. I started by downloading an iOS design system resource library for Adobe XD and familiarizing myself with the components such as cards, navigation, typography, and layouts. In thinking through the common workflows of a treasury analyst, I found it prudent to delineate real-time alerts, analytics, and actions in the sidebar; and allow the right-split to display positions of accounts. I utilized modal design to explore additional context, such as why a fraudulent activity alert was triggered. In our exploration of the company and its offerings, we found that users were easily overwhelmed by first impressions of the dashboard that featured many data-visualization services for threat and security monitoring. By surfacing these scans earlier in the flow, a user could see the details and value of what the product had to offer. Of course, this view could get more complicated by adding multiple scans and a host of infrastructure; to combat this, we considered how to better group scans and allow a user to search across scan types. We opted for a simple view as a part of the onboarding flow, where a user could easily see which scans were problematic via alarms. From there, it was up to the user to continue to the dashboard to look at ways to remedy the alarms and shore up their infrastructure’s cybersecurity.
